The Many Faces of Grief

Snow Angel
Glenda lost her adult son Darrel over 20 years ago. It’s an event that left her broken and shattered, and she still thinks about him every day.
One of her comments resonated with me: “Grief makes you do things that seem crazy”. Glenda told me about drawing hearts in the snow near Darrel’s headstone (at the Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, of which she has become the unofficial protector) and also making snow angels, just like they used to do together when he was young.
It’s a display of her eternal love for her son, and I couldn’t think of a more fitting way to portray her grief than an image of her making a snow angel near his grave.
