Don not only lost his stepson but developed a brain tumour that required surgery. His approach to life, despite the curveballs that it has thrown his way, has been to be positive and happy, and to not take things too seriously.

To me, Don personifies perseverance and resilience in the face of all obstacles, which is why I decided to portray his grief as silent strength.
