The Many Faces of Grief

Mom, I got this!

When Andrea’s Mom passed away suddenly 10 years ago, she realized that she was now on her own. She took over a popular local bar from her dad—even though she had little experience in running a bar—so that it could remain in the family. At the time, she had little time to process her grief. Taking on this challenge has led to a feeling of confidence and of independence (“I can do this!”).

I decided to shoot Andrea sitting in her bar, doing the morning paperwork. Looking pensive, contemplative, and confident.
